Spirulina is the richest food source of omega fatty acids — provided in a ratio of 1.5:1. The ideal ratio for human health is between 1:1 to 2:1 omega-6/omega-3 fatty acids. 

Spirulina is a rich source of very-long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (VLCPUFAs) and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs).
